 Educational Programmes - Teriade museum

In March 2017, in a direction of experimentation, the creation of a series of educational programs at the Teriade Museum began. In a pioneering and amusing way, the 900 students who participated in the educational programs came into contact with art by performing the «missions» assigned to them by Teriade himself. The success of our endeavour has fuelled the creation of a channel of communication with other social institutions to carry out similar actions.

TERIADE'S WILL (2017-2019)

"After the death of Teriade, the great collector of works of art, a mysterious will made its appearance. Unfortunatelly, the heirs were unable to decipher it. Now they ask for help from the children, so as to fulfill his last wishes, while doing a research on the works found in the museum…" The programme is based on a series of activities that invite thw participants to explore the museum and look though the most imaginative places, in order to gather the necessary information for their mission. Exploration, puzzles, images, distorted paintings and interesting stories of artists compose a game of mystery and knowledge. The creation of a unique story, each time, by the students themselves completes their experience in the museum world, in the most creative and enjoyable way. This programme aims to familiarize children with contemporary art, collaborating and teamwork while fueling their imagination and creativity. ΤHE SECRET OF ETERNAL INSPIRATION (2018-2019)

"The assistant of the great painter Matisse visited the museum Teriade in order to discover his secret of eternal inspiration. Unfortunatelly, despite her thorough research, she was unable to recover it by herself. That is why she asks the young artistic researchers for help.."
The main axis of the programme focuses on activating all the senses of the participants, aiming to create a more vibrant and tangible museum experience for them. It is divided in six parts, which are in turn connected to four activities. The mysterious letters, a treasure hunt, an old suitcase full of strange objects and the painter's favourite music compose the participants' colourful journey in the museum. A video projection full of revelations completes the narration of the programme. Through the designed activities, the children are acquainted with contemporary art, they enter a process of research, they sharpen their imagination, they broaden their horizons and learn to cooperate and work in groups. The programme addresses to kindergarten and primary school children, properly adjusted to the different educational needs of each age group.

(CHRISTMAS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME)

"A different Christmas story, full of art and colors, comes to life through sounds, paintings and the pieces of a puzzle hidden inside the Teriade Museum. Goblins are threatening Christmas and only the kids could help prevent them from destroying everything …"
The content of the programme is related to the exhibits of the permanent exhibition of the Teriade Museum, giving children the opportunity to get to know important works of art by playing and creating their own works. Through innovative activities, they become more creative and are encouraged to participate and collaborate with the rest of their teammates. The aim is to familiarize children with modern art, activate their sensitivity, imagination and humor through a programme based on an original Christmas story. It evolves through three activities, focusing on paintings found in the museum's exhibition, through which the kids bring selected paintings and stories to life.
