Curriculum Vitae :

Elli Karkazi is an Archaeologist and Museologist. Her academic background includes a PhD in Prehistoric Archaeology, a MSc in Cultural Informatics and Communication, with specialization in Museum Studies, a MA in Palaeolithic Archaeology and Human Origins and a university degree in History & Archaeology. She is also a tourist guide, registered by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. She has received an Honorary Scholarship from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation and a Grant of Excellency from the Special Account for Research, University of Crete, Greece. Her research interests mainly focus on the study of the Palaeolithic era, lithic technology and experimentation, as well as the dissemination of academic knowledge about the Palaeolithic period to the public. With a strong background in archaeology, she has been involved in a number of research projects in Greece, presenting her work at international conferences. She worked as a contract archaeologist at the Greek Ministry of Culture and the University of Crete. She currently collaborates as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Museology Laboratory ‘Museolab’ (University of the Aegean) and works as Archaeologist-Museologist at the Ephorate of Palaeoanthropology & Speleology (Greek Ministry of Culture).
